Living Well Without Stress

Wellness requires mental, physical, spiritual and emotional balance.

Modern man experiences high levels of stress according to a study conducted by Warren Shepell Research group. People are crazy-busy and have no time to relax and enjoy life. In away stress, to some extent is a good thing. It makes us successful and achieves many goals. With out stress life would be dull and unexciting. However, if stress becomes too difficult to manage, it will have deleterious effect on our health and well being.

While it is impossible to live completely free of stress and distress, there are many simple steps one can take to lower the stress levels. Some of these include:

Practicing meditation, deep breathing, self-hypnosis etc.
Pamper yourself regularly
Know your limits
Take short power nap
Stretch yourself regularly
Make time for yourself to do things that you enjoy
Have a hobby like writing, painting, dancing etc.
Walking and exercising
Taking a warm bath
Go for a relaxation massage
Read a book
Listen to favorite music
Reward yourself by relaxing in your favorite sanctuary
Laughing
Learn to say “NO”
Set realistic goals for yourself
Learning to ask for help
Getting enough sleep
